The title of this post reflects what I really need to do. Lately, I’ve been successful at packing the weekends full of activity. As fun as that is, I’m noticing that it’s hard to get some of the weekend chores done during the week. It’s actually kinda stressful. Running around trying to squeeze every single hum-drum “wish I had the money to ‘outsource’ it” activity into the weekday so that I can enjoy the weekend means that I really don’t enjoy the week which, in case you haven’t noticed, is the longest part!
When you add on top of that the left over wedding activities (trash the dress session, thank you notes, various sorting, filing, and reconciling) with my sudden desire to have a satisfying hobby..well… life has become full. Not overly “I can’t believe I ate the whole thing” full, but more like “on-ramp to the rat race, next left” full.
It makes me tired.
On deck tonight: grocery shopping, laundry, more thank you notes. Maybe, if I’m feeling super ambitious, I’ll even put away last weeks laundry. All this so we can spend a long ‘relaxing’ week at the Engineer’s parents compound (think Kennedy’s not Koresh). And by ‘relaxing’ I mean 9 adults, 2 children, and a dog all snugly fit into a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom area, whilst trying to do everything together.
I think I’ll find a good book and a quiet corner for the weekend.
Yesterday, I went for a walk in our neighborhood park. It was a fantastic day (good breeze) and I felt the sun would do wonders for my Monday blues. It worked, but it also renewed my longing for a puppy.
So I leave this short post with what I desire most right this minute (besides time off):
