So, I like to think of myself as being somewhat original; however, I will admit that I am stealing this directly from one of my favorite blogs, which just so happens to be written by my MBA partner in crime:  JCB (click here to see her blog).

Anyway, it’s called Friday 5’s and it’s from a website that asks 5 questions to be answered on your ‘online journal’ (read: BLOG).    You can visit the Friday 5’s site by either clicking the link to the right or here.

I was immensely interested in the concept from the minute I read about it on Jenny’s blog, however, with wedding and work, I knew I didn’t have the time (heck, I didn’t have time to write about the wedding, let alone anything else).    Now that the wedding is over, I’m trying to get back into good habits and hobbies.   Like JCB, I’m going to attempt to remember to answer the questions every Friday.

This week, there are two sets of questions (just my luck) due to some technical glitch, so I’ll appease my audience and answer both sets.

Enjoy!

 6/6/08 Friday 5’s

Set One:

What’s something that people do in public that really annoys you, even though it’s probably not a big deal?      – It’s got to be loudly eating food.   Crunching, Slurping, Smacking, Popping.  Seriously irritating.

How readily do you ask strangers to stop their annoying behavior?  Never.  I mostly sit and endure the annoyance until I’m UBER pissed off.  But I never, EVER, say anything.  Mostly because in those situations, I’m a big ol’ chicken.

What’s something you do in public that probably annoys others?   I talk on my cell phone everywhere.  The gas station, the bank, in line at the grocery store.   =)   I hate it when others do it but I do it anyway.

What’s your theory on why it’s so easy to get annoyed when one is behind the wheel of a vehicle?  I think Americans are always in a hurry.   Always running here or there, usually late, with the expectations that things will go as planned every time (ie not allowing buffer time for traffic, accidents, slow-pokey drivers, etc).  When things don’t go ones way, we tend to become less tolerant of the situation.

What regular, minor annoyances have you learned to tolerate?   Chatty checkers/clerks.  I’m a fan of the “Let me buy my stuff in peace” philosophy, however, I understand that everyone needs to be social from time to time.

Set Two:

When was the last time you had your hand dirty?  It was either when I last cleaned the cat’s litter boxes or when DH and I went hiking at Ijams Nature center.

When was the last time you had your hands in clay?  Does play-doh count?  No?  Ok.. then it had to be when I took a trip to UTM to visit my awesome artist best friend Jennifer.   We spent some time in the pottery room (class? lab? studio?) for fun.

When was the last time you had your feet in mud?   Bare feet?  I have no idea.  Feet in general:  On the honeymoon we went to the Mayan Cave Che Chem Ha.  I had mud everywhere, including my feet.

When was the last time you had your feet in sand?   On the honeymoon, days 6-10.  It was WONDERFUL!

What part of your life could use a serious cleansing?  UGH… probably my religious backbone (or lack there of) or the shower in our Master Bathroom =)
