Now that I’m officially the Engineer’s ‘old lady’, I’m in search of the appropriate handbag. Ok.. so maybe I’m just looking for an excuse to buy a new purse. Truth be told, I have a bag problem (read: Addiction). The problem is that I’m really never satisfied. I’ll find a bag I love but only carry it for a month or two before I grow tired of it and I’m on to a new bag. Thankfully, I don’t spend $100’s on bags, since I go through them like most people go through underware (notice, I said MOST people… that’s another blog). Blatantly put: I’m a bag polygamous.
That being said, I’ve just purchased a fantastic new bag. I’ve been eyeing the ”Market Bag” by Moop on etsy.com for the past few months. Since I couldn’t justify the price with the wedding around the corner, I somehow managed to keep myself from buying it. Now that the weddings over, I’m back to my old devious ways. This bag is hand made by a girl in Massachusetts, whose work philosophy is that handmade doesn’t have to mean cheaply made.

Being a sucker for big bags, I was obviously hooked on this bag. It’s GINORMOUS (measurements on etsy.com claim that it’s 13″ x 14″ x 19″ with a 14″ handle drop). The seller does make other (read: smaller) bags too (mostly bi-gender bags: meaning men and women can carry her bags). There is usually a 1-2 week lead time to get your bag, so if (like me) you’re all about instant gratification, this is a tough sell.
I’m happy to be contributing to the homemade economy. I know that this bag wasn’t made by a 7 year old in Indonesia, and that’s a good feeling, even if it means waiting 2 weeks for a bag.
You can click here to get your very own Moop bag.
Time to stalk to my mail man until the bag arrives.
It seems quite surreal, but after 1 year and 355 days of being “engaged”, the Engineer and I got married!
There’s a million things to write about, and at this moment I can’t even fathom where to start.
I’ll begin the ‘run down’ once I get some pictures back (which reminds me: IF you took pictures at our wedding, could you send them to either Boy or myself? Thanks!!). What I will tell you right now is that the day was amazing and more than I could have ever imagined.
So for now, we’re adjusting the married life well. Our house is a mess (and cardboard boxes really smell after a while)
Stay tuned….. updates to follow
Mrs. Engineer
