Again, it’s been over a month since my last blog and SO MUCH has happened!

To make a long story kinda short: my laptop crapped out, so I had to send it to Compaq to be fixed.  Well, like most tech customer service situations, they took their sweet time fixing my laptop.  After many, MANY calls (some I wouldn’t repeat in front of small children) and two weeks later my laptop finally arrived.  Well, by this time, many wedding projects were running behind.   It took me a whole week to get all my programs reloaded and working correctly (darn Vista) and then another week to load old files (I’m still loading I-tunes.  For some reason the music is on the hard drive but the program can’t see it?!?!? So I have to go in via I-tunes and re-load each song individually.  I loaded songs for 3 hours yesterday and only got thru the ‘F’s.  I’m pretty sure I could be doing that for another two weeks solid).

What’s made the situation worse is that the 7-8 month mark for the wedding was (is) quickly approaching and I hadn’t done anything for Save-the-Dates.  Now, I should preface this by saying from day one I’ve had a very distinct idea about what I wanted my Save-the-Dates to look like.  There wasn’t going to be anyway to get them just as I wanted them without doing them all myself.  I could pay to have them custom made, but that was going to cost the equivalent of my first born and  since I didn’t budget much for them, I knew the only way to do it would be via DIY.   This DIY project (which I’ll blog about after they get sent, as I don’t want to ruin the fun of getting the Save-the-Date in the mail) required getting rights to use a professionally taken picture, some Photoshopping, and several hours of cutting and pasting (when it’s put that way it sounds so kindergarten!).  Well, with the laptop being down, the photoshopping would have to wait.   Once the laptop was running again, the Engineer couldn’t find his “borrowed” copy of Photoshop, so now I’m working (against time mind you) with a 30 day trial of Photoshop to get our Save-the-Date created.

So there hasn’t been much time for blogging.   On top of the being seriously over-worked at work (not a topic I care to discuss in the blog.  To much rope to hang myself with… ), there just hasn’t been time for much.  Hey, don’t believe me??  I’ve been living off of clothes that never make it out of the laundry basket (the clean laundry basket that is) for almost a month!!  I don’t even have time to put away clothes!!

Nevertheless, from this point forward, I promise a new blog will be posted if not daily, then ever other day.   As I mentioned in the last blog, we’ve gotten so much accomplished with planning (and by we.. I mean we!  Boy is actually helping!).   We hit the 8 month mark on Monday and we only need to sign two major vendors (cake and video) and two small vendors (transportation and rehearsal location).   My planner says I’m so ahead of the game, but I still feel behind.  I’ve managed to acquire (aka assign to myself) a metric ton of DIY projects, which I’m itching to start immediately.  Only I can’t start them until I finalize a guest list.  So.. that may be the next step.  That and blogging, of course.
